Tara Gayan – Songs from the Stars
The Tara Gayan is a band formed by a pair of talented musicians: Agnieszka Mendel and Maciej Hanusek. Their everyday reality is stretched between the East and the West (Lublin Viovodship – Lower Silesia), like their music – inspired by far East musicians, poets and philosophers, resounding with the road movies. In this rich musical landscape we would hear vintage colour of guitars, electronics, fusion of Indian themes with western perspective of alternative rock and a dose of jazz; lyrics are a mossaic of languages. Clearly, a little of ambitious synth pop comes forth as well.
After years of friendship and collaboration on many projects together, the musicians decided to create their own unique world drawing from rich musical and theatrical experiences (Centre for Theatre Practices „Gardzienice”, Muzyka Sfer, Yaron Trio, The Gate).
The band debuted with a concert in December 2017 and currently prepares the release of the first studio album.
During concerts Tara Gayan performs with percussionist Michał Brańka.
