PERFORMANCE of the IV ACADEMY for THEATRE PRACTICES (2004-2006)
François vase was created around 560 BC and it is an example of an unusual level of Greek pottery, which became an art. For researchers such priceless objects of antiquity as Francois Vase are an invaluable source of knowledge about the ancient Greeks. One needs to know how to read the Vase, to decipher adorning it paintings. For the team of the Centre for Theatre Practices GARDZIENICE the Vase is a starting point for the research of the ancient theatre traditions.
The performance FRANÇOIS VASE is a small bible of ancient mythology. Treated as a kind of foundation and canon source, it is the basis and the reference point of student performance conducted under the supervision of experienced actors.
The performance of Academy for Theatre Practices refers to the GARDZIENICE actors training: movement - based mainly on mutual exercises with regard to the antique iconography and music - based on the notation of ancient music, which survived to modern times.
The music and dance performance revived characters immortalized in more than two and a half thousand year old ancient Vase, which is now in the Archaeological Museum in Florence. 'Old beauty can be recalled again, one can see it, identify with it, set it in motion. Dead figures are raised by us, and we are moved by their vitality '- explain the artists.
