RECONNAISSANCE

Reconnaissance is a direct preparation of the Expedition, it is a field verification of the scenario assumptions and circumstances, recognition of the place - both in terms of topography, as well as mentally. Carried out since the beginning of the theatre by a number of designated team members. Staniewski believes that "the scenario of the Expedition must be the result of the most carefully conducted reconnaissance".

All information is important here - ethnic diversity of the population, age range, living conditions, religious believes, architecture of the countryside, landscape, climate - all of which add up to the space which – during the Expedition - becomes a theatrical space, macro scene of this particular theatre, so close to life itself. It was during reconnaissance that musical and verbal material was acquired, later to be used during the performances. Reconnaissance is also intended to provide technical support for the project.
