The scholar - artstic Conference THEATRE FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION

TANSANIA - UGANDA - POLSKA - USA,

University of Dar es Salaam; Tansania / Makerere University; Uganda / University of New Jersey; USA (initiative) / American Council of Learned Societies, Nowy Jork (USA) / University of Warsaw, Faculty of Artes Liberales; Poland/ European Centre for Theatrical Practices "Gardzienice"; Poland

15 participans from scholar and artistic environments of Tansania and Uganda; as well as scholars from University of New Jersey and The Warsaw Uniwersity will take part in the conference and artistic program.

Schedule:

Friday; October 10th:

5.00-6.00 PM - arrival to Gardzienice

6.00 PM - welcome speech of Wlodzimierz Staniewski

7.30 PM - supper

8.30 PM - sightseeing of the Park and Palace complex in European Centre for Theatre Practices "Gardzienice", the newly renovatred and elevated from ruins

(attn. Paralelly, there will take place the Theatrical Marathon of Gardzienice, the open public event in theatre venues)

Saturday; October 11th:

9.00 AM - breakfast

10.00 AM - presentation of materials Tansania/Uganda/USA - the conference hall of palace in Gardzienice

11.30 AM - coffee break

12.00 AM - Wlodzimierz Staniewski - introduction and film presentations on Theater "Gardzienice" initiatives, serving the idea Theater for Conflict Resolution:

- the '70-ties - Eastern Poland

- the '80/'90-ties - North Ireland; and South Ireland (Cross the Border Project)

- the '90-ties (Ukraine)

2.00 PM - lunch

4.00-5.00 PM - presentation of artists from "Gardzienice" Theatre prectice, applicable to the 'Theater for Conflict Resolution' concept

6.00 PM supper

7.00 PM - Theatrical Marathon of "Gardzienice" Theater (performances: IPHIGENIA IN T... based on Euripides and PYTHIAN ORATORIO based on the wisdom of Seven Sages; dir. W. Staniewski)

10.00 PM - meeting with W. Staniewski and actors, discussion

Sunday; October 12th:

8.00 AM - breakfast

9.00 AM - the holy Mass at the local church in Wygnanowice; meeting with the priest Zbigniew Borowski

10.30 AM - the final meeting, summarizing the Conference (Palace)

12.30 AM - lunch

1.30 PM - departure
